He starts a long-term project on animal awareness, spending three weeks with a herd of bison in Wind Cave National Park, South Dakota, and is appointed “resident artist” at San Diego Zoo in California. Bill and Kira travel to the Fiji Islands to observe a Hindu ceremony in which participants walk barefoot on burning coals and to record the ceremony on video tape.
