Lo schermo dell’arte presents the publication VISIO—Moving Images in Europe since the 2010s, edited by Leonardo Bigazzi and published by Lenz, with Arturo Galansino (General Director of Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi), Silvia Lucchesi (Director of Lo schermo dell’arte), and Leonardo Bigazzi (Curator of Lo schermo dell’arte and VISIO) on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 6:00 pm in the conference space of the Strozzina.
The publication brings together visions, experiences, and interdisciplinary critical methodologies that have been fundamental in the development of the language of moving images since 2010. The essays and conversations reflect on the radical technological and formal transformations in the works of the generation of digital native artists, addressing the shared processes developed during the first twelve editions of VISIO—European Programme on Artists’ Moving Images, a research, production, and residency project promoted and organized by Lo schermo dell’arte in Florence. Over the years, VISIO has involved approximately three hundred artists, filmmakers, institutional directors, curators, academics, film producers, and collectors.
The publication has also been made possible thanks to the support of Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi, a partner of Lo schermo dell’arte since 2015, which hosted two important exhibitions: VISIO Moving Images After Post-Internet (November 13 – December 1, 2019) and VISIO Next Generation Moving Images (November 17 – December 20, 2015).
Admission to the event is free, subject to availability.
The volume is available for purchase on the Lenz e-shop.
