Tracey Emin uses many ways to represent herself and give form to her ideas: painting and colours to portray the body, sculpture to model its various parts, words to express desires and fears.
Shapes of me is the activity that Palazzo Strozzi proposes for the 7-12 age group: it includes a first part within the exhibition Tracey Emin. Sex and Solitude where children, together with accompanying adults, are invited to see some of the works on display. Given the complexity of the themes addressed by Tracey Emin, the tour will focus on a restricted selection of works in a single room.
After the visit we return to the workshop where children can experiment with self-representation through different materials, while adults can take a tour and see the other rooms of the exhibition accompanied by a museum educator. This part of the visit focuses on art as self-narrative, exploring the ways in which Tracey Emin translates personal experiences into deeply intimate, intense and powerful works.
The possibility of doing part of the tour together allows for a family experience, while the independent part creates a context for experimentation and exploration that takes into account the age and personal growth of each participant.
Reservations required. Limited seats.
Activities are free with the exhibition admission ticket.
