With many voices – Tracey Emin. Sex and Solitude

With Many Voices is the project that Fondazione Palazzo Strozzi dedicates to people with dementia and their caregivers. The program is curated by the Foundation’s Education Department and is held in collaboration with specialized geriatric educators.

With Many Voices offers people living with dementia the chance to express themselves through art and proposes a model for communication that is still possible. By inviting recourse to imagination and not memory, imagination and not logic-cognitive skills, the communicative abilities of each person are, in fact, enhanced. The project is open to families and health care residences and includes cycles of meetings that take place in front of the works on display and in the rooms of the Maria Manetti Shrem Educational Center.

On the occasion of the exhibition Tracey Emin. Sex and Solitude, With Many Voices includes rounds of appointments and the active participation of people living with dementia and their carers.
Due to the presence of sensitive content, attendance at the presentation meeting is recommended.

Presentation meeting

The presentation meeting, dedicated to carers, will take place on Tuesday, March 18 at 3 p.m. at Palazzo Strozzi. During this time we will visit the exhibition, talk together about the activities, and gather impressions and suggestions from the participants.

Concluding meeting

The final meeting dedicated to all participants will take place on Tuesday 17 June at 3 p.m. at Palazzo Strozzi. This meeting is designed to review the course and to gather participants’ impressions and suggestions.

The activity is completely free of charge.
