Ever since she was a child, Helen Frankenthaler has loved to observe the reality around her and to be inspired by the shapes and colours she sees around her. How many shades are there in a sky at sunset and what profile does a landscape on a hill or the horizon of a city have?
Watching the Clouds is the activity that Palazzo Strozzi proposes for the 3-6 age group: it includes a first part in the rooms of the exhibition Helen Frankenthaler: Painting Without Rules, during which, thanks to narrative moments and sensory experiences, we discover together the works of this great artist. Through observation, storytelling and play, we observe shapes, lines and colours and discover how much a work of art can tell us. In the second part in the workshop we are inspired by the works we have seen in the exhibition and we experiment with techniques and materials to create works where colours mix as if by magic and give life to new imaginary figures.
Watching the Clouds is designed to be done by adults and children together: the exhibition thus becomes an opportunity to experience art with the whole family.

Activities are free with the exhibition admission ticket.
