Nuances is a scheme targeting autistic youngsters and adults developed by Palazzo Strozzi in conjunction with the Associazione Autismo Firenze. The scheme is devised for small groups and consists of activities structured to facilitate interaction with the works of art on display in the exhibition rooms. For each exhibition, an introductory meeting is organised for carers to see the rooms and to familiarise with the environment.
Each activity is then preceded by the delivery of material containing information on the premises and on the works of art chosen for the tour, and by a phone call with Palazzo Strozzi’s educators to discuss the group’s particular characteristics.
For the Olafur Eliasson: Nel tuo tempo exhibition, participants will be guided on a tour of the exhibition in order to personally experience those installations that involve physical interaction and sensory (particularly visual) stimulation. In view of the exhibition’s interactive nature, a sensory map and social history will be provided to facilitate the visit, and they can also be used as tools for preparing the activity ahead of the event.

Introductory meeting
The introductory meeting will be held on site and is intended for professionals wishing to accompany a group. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 2 November from 15.00 to 16.30 and attendance is compulsory if you wish to take part in the scheme.

The activities, in the shape of on-site tours with small groups of people, will be held both in the exhibition rooms and in the Maria Manetti Shrem Educational Center. The tour of the exhibition will take in a small selection of works of art. Various forms of interaction involving sensory experiences will be proposed during the tour.
All activities now take place on site in accordance with a fixed schedule and are open to a maximum of 5 people (plus carers).
Activities last one and a half hours, although this may vary according to the group’s specific needs.
You must attend the introductory meeting if you wish to take part in the scheme.
Nuances’ activities are devised in conjunction with the users and educators of the Centro Casadasé.
