The Body Alphabet – Tour + Workshop (Power and Pathos)

The Body Alphabet aims to forge a link between contextual observations of works of art and students’ own experience of communication and reflection for potential expression of the human body, be it a statue or a living person. The exhibition tour of the Power and Pathos. Bronze Sculpture of the Hellenistic World is followed by a workshop activity allowing each child to develop a personal take on the stimuli presented in the exhibition. After a few “warm-up” exercises to become familiarised with their own body’s potential for communication, students move on to the fomal workshop activity, a production of the alphabet in the form of a booklet containing body poses developed and their significance.

The activity (tour of the exhibition + workshop) lasts two hours and costs € 72.00 per group (maximum 25 students) plus the price of admission to the exhibition (€ 4.00 per student). Admission is free for accompanying teaching staff.

The activity is conducted in Italian or, by prior arrangement, English, French or Spanish.
